Huddersfield Hospital Radio is your local hospital radio station broadcasting to wards in the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. We broadcast 24/7 with a selection of live programmes 7pm-10pm each weekday. Hospital Radio is FREE on channel one on your bedside unit.

Our shows cover a wide range of music plus the patients request programmes from 8:30pm-10pm. Hospital Radio also broadcasts live football and rugby league commentary from the John Smith’s Stadium on match days. At weekends, we have programmes from around 10am-2pm including the service from the Hope Centre Chapel in the Infirmary on Sundays from 9:30am.

We are always in need of volunteers. Presenters, engineers, request collectors – whatever you want to do, however much of it you want to do, it all counts towards keeping the service running.

We are a charity, registered as such with the Charities Commission. We are staffed by volunteers and take no profit. But it costs money to run a radio station. Upkeep of equipment, PRS fees, insurance, electricity and phone bills – it all needs paying whether you’re a charity or any other organisation.
